At the Southampton Care Centre on Thursday, July 8th, 2010 at the age of 76, Marion (nee Martin). Beloved wife for 54 years of Gordon Longmire of Port Elgin. Mother of Doug of Southampton, Dennis and his wife Louise of Tavistock, Don and his wife Deborah of Tiverton, Cathy and her husband George May of Sudbury, and Brian and his wife Darlene of Port Elgin. Grandma of fourteen grandchildren. She is also survived by seven brothers: Lloyd (Betty) of Guelph, Leo (Elsie) of Hanover, Menno (Laurel) of Chepstow, Ernie (Carol) of Elora, Allen (Pauline) of Elmira, Ray of Coquitlam, B.C., and Phares (Marlene) of Elora. She is predeceased by her parents Henry and Magdalena Martin.
Friends may call at the W. Kent Milroy Port Elgin Chapel, 510 Mill St., Port Elgin from 7 to 9 p.m. on Sunday, July 11th, 2010. A funeral service will be conducted in the chapel on Monday at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Robert Widdowson.
Interment Southampton Cemetery.

Brian & family: We send you our deepest sympathy on the loss of your Mom. I remember many little chats with her when she lived across from us and many at the care centre, she was a wonderful lady. You were surely blessed. Will be thinking of you and your family.

Gord, we were soo sorry to hear of Marions passing. She was a lovely lady. We enjoyed having you guys as neighbors, when we were at Dreamaker Camp Grounds, and then seeing Marion in the nursing home while Brians Mom was there. Please know we are thinking about you at this difficult time.

My sincere condolences on the passing of your Mother Marion.
I met her several years ago when she was a dedicated volunteer at Saugeen Memorial Hospital. She was kind to the patients & very helpful to the staff.

I have many fond memories of Marion. Marion had many, many amazing talents, quilting to mention one.
