Peacefully at the Grey Bruce Health Services Southampton, on Thursday, November 12th, 2009 in her 82nd year, Alison Folkes of Southampton, born and raised in Hampstead, Montreal, Quebec, until 1946 when the family moved to Hamilton. Retired from McMaster Medical Centre in Hamilton in June 1991 and moved to Southampton, August 6, 1991. Active volunteer on many local and municipal committees and with Home and Community Services from 1992-2003. Loving Mom of Daniel Folkes. Proud Grandma of Rachael Wright and her husband John of Hamilton. Great-grandma of Amelia and Soleil Wright of Hamilton. Dear cousin of Eric Bliss of Vancouver B.C. Predeceased by her parents Agnes and David Strachan formerly of Hamilton, and daughter Susan Forest, of Cranbrook, British Columbia.
