It is with great sadness and sorrow that Barry James de Roos of Port Elgin, in his 50th year has passed away. Loving Dad of Taylor, Connor, Austin, and Tara, who he loved more than life. Beloved son of Alyse and the late Jack de Roos. Beloved partner of Sue Scowcroft. Dear brother of Deb and her husband Greg Shaw, Bryan and his wife Christine, and Brenda and her husband Dave Wilson. Barry will be sadly missed by his nieces and nephews, Lauren, Derek, Nash, Dayna, Christopher, and Candy. Barry will be fondly remembered by aunts, uncles, family and friends in Canada, the Netherlands and the U.S.A. His family will forever miss their father, son, brother, partner, and friend. Rest well.

A funeral service will be held at the W. Kent Milroy Port Elgin Chapel, 510 Mill St., Port Elgin on Monday, January 4th, 2010, at 7:00 p.m., with the Rev. Gordon Williams officiating. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service.

Memorial contributions to a children’s charity of your choice or to the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
