Peacefully at the Southampton Care Centre, on Wednesday October 28th, 2009 in her 85th year, Betty Colborne (nee Evans) of Port Elgin. Loving wife of Bill Colborne. Mother of Bob of Bristol, England, Ann and her husband Gord MacKay of Port Elgin, David and his wife Cheryl of Windsor, and Jen and her partner Mary Breen of Toronto. Proud Nanna of Shane, Alex, Steven, David, Brian, Christie, Katie, and Adam. Dear sister of Connie Burroughs of Florida and Barbara Crowe of New Hampshire. Friends may call at the W. Kent Milroy Port Elgin Chapel, 510 Mill Street, Port Elgin, from 2 to 4 & 7 to 9 p.m. on Sunday, November 1st, 2009. A funeral service will be conducted in the chapel on Monday at 11 a.m. with Rev. Eleanor Russ officiating. Interment United Cemeteries, Carleton Place.
